Apostles' Creed

What I believe, I tell you now
that Father God in heav'n above,
created all the earth and sky
and sent his son, a gift of love

In Jesus Christ, Messiah, King
by Spirit's pow'r he was conceived
of Mary born, both man and God
the Word made flesh, I do believe

by Pilate's word he suffered pain
was crucified, died, buried low
in hell destroyed the devil's pow'r
in vict'ry rose as He foretold

He did ascend to heav'n above
is seated now on God's right hand
He'll come to judge both quick and dead
He rules his church in ev'ry land

the Holy Spirit sanctifies
the holy church all saints commune
the body raised, eternal life
an ancient creed, all this is true

Amen, Amen, Amen.

Hail! Infant Martyrs

Look at "infant martyr flowers" -
baby souls like small rosebuds,
cut down by swords of tyrant power -
Herod's storm of death descends.

Look upon the desperate Herod -
he hears the Prince of Kings has come
to rule Israel from David's throne. He cries,
"Seize your blad, spill infant blood."

Look how Herod 's slaughter fails -
mothers weep for murdered sons -
yet infant King eludes the sword,
Christ alone remains unharmed.

Look again at "martyr flowers" -
the first to die for Christ the King,
buds cut down, now bloom forever -
beneath God's altar, play and sing.

Glory unto Christ the Savior,
born to break the tyrant's reign,
with the Father and the Spirit,
evermore adored. Amen.
